O.C.U. Ground Defense Force

The O.C.U. Ground Defense Force is the land branch of the military of the Oceania Cooperative Union.

History[]

Origins[]

Shortly after the formation of the OCU, it was deemed that an army that was seperate from the armies of each nation that was part of the OCU would be necessary to contribute to world peace and protect the rights of its people and their property. In 2023, the OCU Joint Preparatory Team was expanded ito its current form. ^[1]

Huffman Conflicts[]

Following the settlement of Huffman Island, tensions between the OCU and the USN would rise, which eventually resulted in the First Huffman Conflict breaking out in 2070. After two years of fighting, the conflict ended with a ceasefire that was established by the Peace Mediation Organization.

The OCU Army would again see action when the Second Huffman Conflict broke out in 2090; while they would suffer a drastic setback when Freedom, the capital of the OCU's settlements on Huffman, fell to the USN in the early days of the conflict, the conflict would fall into a stalemate that ended a year later when the OCU Army was able to reconquer Freedom in the first days of August. Following the recapture of Freedom, the OCU Army steadily captured USN territory and prepared to attack Fort Monus, which was the final defense line before the capital of the USN forces on Huffman. During the battle of Fort Monus, the OCU and the USN declared a ceasefire; this ceasefire would be followed by the OCU and the USN signing a peace treaty, ending the war.
